- Clerical/administrative volunteers
- Fundraising event volunteers
- Community advocacy and outreach (read more about volunteer opportunities through Friends of HPI below)

Linda Maher
Featured Volunteer:
Homelessness Prevention Initiative wishes to recognize individuals whose volunteer contributions have been instrumental in helping prevent families from becoming homeless.
Linda Maher has demonstrated incredible dedication to the cause of homelessness prevention. Linda began as a volunteer at Harmony Presbyterian in October 2006, then stepped up to also serve as a Lead Volunteer at the Murphy Center for Hope. In addition to her work with clients, Linda also helps coordinate the Friends of HPI program where her contagious enthusiasm helps educate the community and engage advocates on behalf of HPI's program of prevention.
We thank Linda for her incredible work on behalf of our neighbors in need.
What Other HPI Volunteers Have to Say:
I have very much enjoyed my years with HPI and have learned a lot—if I had not moved out of state, I’d still be volunteering with HPI today. Also, working with our lead volunteer has been delightful. She is extremely knowledgeable about finance and many community resources. Her strength, I believe, is helping HPI clients brainstorm about these resources, budgeting, job possibilities, etc. So many times, clients remarked about how helpful the intake session had been. This is thanks largely to her. Thank you again for all you do for this wonderful community resource.
