6th Annual Clothing the Cold, Warming the World Youth Sleep Out
On December 3 youth from 13 different groups in our community came together to spread awareness about our neighbors in need. They were part of HPI's 6th annual Clothing the Cold, Warming the World Youth Sleep Out.
These youth passed the evening learning about the face of homelessness in northern Colorado, then spent the night sleeping outside in cardboard boxes.
This year saw the Sleep Out's largest turnout, and over $12,000 was raised for homelessness prevention through the efforts of these youth.
Speakers at the vigil included: Sue Beck-Ferkiss, Executive Director of HPI; Sister Mary Alice Murphy, founder of HPI: Randle Loeb, a previously homeless gentleman from Denver; and Chris Gilmore from Greeley UCC.
Thank you to all who attended and supported the supported the cause of homelessness prevention.
